NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — The Providence College Friars scored two goals per period to beat Merrimack, 6-0, Friday night at Lawler Rink.

Providence got goals from Brandon Duhaime, Scott Conway, Greg Printz, Josh Wilkins, Kasper Bjorkqvist and Spenser Young.

Bjorkqvist opened the scoring (assists from Wilkins and Jack Dugan) about three minutes into the game. Spenser added a power-play goal late in the period, with assists from Duhaime and Wilkins.

In the second period, Printz scored (assists by Jay O'Brien and Young) at 5:53 and Wilkins added another (Duhaime assisted) at 7:29 as the Friars took a 4-0 lead into the second intermission. Conway netted a power-play goal (assists by Tyce Thompson and Bjorkqvist) at 2:21 of the third and Duhaime scored the Friars' final goal of the night (assists by Thompson and Davis Bunz).

Providence goalie Hayden Hawkey made 20 stops, while Merrimack's Craig Pantano had 24 saves.
