In reference to U.S. Rep. Cicilline traveling to New Mexico to investigate the death of an migrant child, I would ask why he is not spending that time and resources on children in his own state who are in need of better care.

Many children in Rhode Island and elsewhere in our country are suffering from poverty and disease every day. His trip only seems to me a way to please those who are against our president's agenda.

It is sad that the two children at the border died. However, is it the problem of the United States? Border control employees are trying their best. They are truly overwhelmed and it is costing millions, maybe even billions, of dollars to care for these people.

Ultimately, we need a better immigration policy and, sadly, a wall must be part of it.
