I'm writing to you because of my grandson and other students who cannot walk the streets of downtown Providence without being shot by drive-by paint-ballers, who apparently roam your streets daily looking for victims.
This is not a new trend, since your police said this has been going on for quite a few years. How long will it take before these paint-ballers lose the thrill and move on to real guns? That is the real trend.
I am writing to you as well as Johnson & Wales University, the governor of Rhode Island, the mayor of Providence, as well our local congressman.
This is deadly serious. As a U.S. Army veteran, I deserve a world to live in without my children being unprotected against hooligans and criminals who run the streets unchecked.
