I really don’t get it! For months, I have heard Rhode Islanders complain about the performance of Gov. Gina Raimondo, yet we resoundingly reelect her.

What about the millions of dollars squandered on the “perfect” computer system to cure all ills? What about the millions of dollars given to out-of-state financiers to bolster our pension system, which is still underfunded? What about the chaotic Department of Children, Youth, and Families, in such turmoil that children and families were put in harm’s way?

How did all of this become so unimportant?

And, oh yes, free tuition to college students. Wake up, Rhode Islanders! We are paying that “free" tuition — unless Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, or some other fairy-tale hero has left us tons of money for it.

It seems that if you bear the label “Democrat” in Rhode Island, you get elected and reelected.

I love Rhode Island and I plan to stay here. I wish, though, that somehow, some way, the voters of Rhode Island would open their minds to issues instead of party-line voting.
