When I read about the closing of Nordstrom, one of two remaining anchor stores at Providence Place Mall, I did not have to ask why.

The press release stated that Nordstrom looks at each market and evaluates where and how to grow its business. The State of Rogues Island is obviously not that market.

Should we be surprised? Time and time again, surveys of all kind constantly rank the state near the bottom for business climate and economic competitiveness.

The good citizens of Rhode Island should not allow this stigma to continue. Voters should do their "due diligence" and rid themselves of the incompetent, hot-air elected officials who have destroyed this state. It is time to vote for change across the board.

We should stop looking at party affiliations and look for candidates who will put us on the path toward becoming "Big Rhody" — a state that people, and businesses, want to come to, instead of getting the heck out of!
