BOOK CLUB: Union Public Library, 3832 Main Road, Tiverton, 1 p.m. This month's book club selection is "Three Sides to the Sea: Memories of a S'cunnet Childhood" by David Patten. Copies of the book are available at the library during regular business hours on Tuesdays between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. All are welcome to join the discussion.

MUSIC ON THE LAWN: St. John's Church, 61 Poplar St., Newport, 6 p.m. Friends of Music at St. John’s annual summer music series, Music on the Lawn, featuring The Strattones, food trucks, beverage service, a 50/50 raffle and more. FIDDLE N' FUN: Tiverton Public Library Community Room, 34 Roosevelt Ave., Tiverton, 11 a.m. Come to the library for an interactive music class. Learn how to play the Fiddlestix, a one string instrument that has been proven to help prepare young musicians to learn the violin. Children ages 3+. Space is limited. Tickets will be distributed on a first come basis a half hour before show time.

STARRY STICKER NIGHT: Tiverton Public Library Children's Activity Room, 34 Roosevelt Ave., Tiverton, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Create a collaborative piece of sticker art for the children's room. It will be based on Van Gogh's The Starry Night painting. Recommended for children entering 2nd-5th grade.

PLAY: Sandywoods Center for the Arts, 43 Muse Way, Tiverton, 7 p.m. One of the area's longest-running Shakespeare companies, What Cheer, Shakespeare?, will be performing Midsummer Night's Dream. Show will be outdoors under the stars, in the field near the farmhouse. Performance will be indoors if there is inclement weather. Bring a picnic, chairs/blankets and bug spray! CONCERT: Sandywoods Center for the Arts, 43 Muse Way, Tiverton, 7:30 p.m. Thatcher Harrison, winner of the 2019 Southeastern Massachusetts Music Educators Association Composition Competition, will be performing. This will be Thatcher's final concert in the area before he heads to New England Conservatory. $15 cash at the door.

SCULPTURE TOUR: Norman Bird Sanctuary, 583 3rd Beach Road, Middletown, 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Experience the world-renowned "Lost Bird Project" sculptures with artist Todd McGrain at Artists in Paradise. Go on a tour and see the five bronze sculptures, each memorializing an extinct American bird, while learning fascinating details. After the tour, guests will fold souvenir origami birds and enjoy complimentary wood-fired pizza and signature cocktails while overlooking the sanctuary fields.
