FALL RIVER — A Fall River man wanted in Saturday night’s fatal stabbing has surrendered.

 

Adam James Conners, 29, of 136 Lonsdale St., Apt. 1W, turned himself in to Fall River District Court, according to the Fall River Police Department.

 

On Saturday around 11:35 p.m., Fall River police responded to the area of Church and Hall streets for a motor vehicle accident, according to a press release from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

 

Police originally responded to the area for a report of a motor vehicle accident.

 

When officers arrived, they found the victim, Joseph Reading, 39, of Fall River, in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle bleeding and unresponsive, the press release states. Reading was transported to Saint Anne’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

 

A police investigation revealed that the victim had attended a gathering at 160 Hall St. in Fall River, where Reading was injured in an altercation.
