Photographer Sarah Heaton photographed lovable dogs all over the city last year to assemble the 2019 version.

NEWPORT — There is still time to get your 2019 "Dogs of Newport" calendar, a project by PDQ Graphics to benefit the Potter League For Animals.

The 2018 version focused on the dogs of Broadway. But graphic designer and photographer Sarah Heaton expanded the geographic reach of this year’s calendar to include the whole city.

“I’ve been all over the city meeting and photographing dogs,” she said via email.

Heaton started the calendar to pay tribute to her friend and PDQ Graphics co-worker Jayne Butler, who died in July 2017. Butler was a huge dog lover, as is Heaton. “She loved all the dogs who came to visit us, and so we thought it would be a fitting tribute to her,” Heaton said.

The calendars cost $15 with net proceeds going to the Potter League in Middletown. They are for sale at PDQ Graphics, 176 Broadway, and also at Closet Revival, 30 Broadway; Newport Nautical Supply, 186 Admiral Kalbfus Road; and O’Brien’s Pub, 501 Thames St.
