WAKEFIELD — Portsmouth’s Brooke Daigle, a senior at the Prout School, has been selected to the Rhode Island Music Education’s All-State Mixed Chorus as a soprano, according to a press release from the school on Nov. 28.

Daigle, along with other students across Rhode Island, auditioned in front of a panel of judges — all professional musicians — on Nov. 17 at the Moses Brown School in Providence. Founded in 1915, the Rhode Island Music Education Association is a federated state association of the National Association for Musical Education. RIMEA is a non-profit organization that plays a significant role in representing all phases of music education in the schools, colleges and universities within the state.

Founded in 1966, the Prout School is a Catholic, diocesan, coeducational, college-preparatory high school. Located in Wakefield, it enrolls about 425 students from all Rhode Island communities and parts of Connecticut. For more information, visit www.theproutschool.org.
