PAWTUCKET — Joseph Jenks Middle School and the Jacqueline Walsh School for the Arts were dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Friday due to a water main break outside the buildings on Division Street, the school district said.

The water main break, which happened shortly after 11 a.m., ciut off the water supply to the building, according to the district.

Buses brought students home. The district believed school would be back in session by Monday.

Also Friday, the Community Players theater group, which performs at Jenks Middle School, canceled its production of "It's a Wonderful Life" due to the water-main break.
