PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth police arrested two people Friday afternoon after a search of a home on Roger Williams Court revealed drug paraphernalia, including heroin and oxycodone pills.

Police charged Cara J. Matthews, 24, of 79 Roger Williams Court, and Robert A. Langlais, 27, of Fall River, Massachusetts, with two counts each of manufacturing/possession/delivery of drugs, the Portsmouth Police Department announced Saturday morning.

An investigation into drugs being introduced in the Portsmouth area led police to Matthews and Langlais. Portsmouth officers along with a Middletown police K-9 unit and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force executed a search warrant Friday at 79 Roger Williams Court. The search of the premises revealed a “significant amount” of heroin, the pills and packaging materials, according to a statement from Portsmouth police.

Matthews and Langlais were held without bail by a justice of the peace and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
