The newportFILM summer schedule begins with a showing of “Won't You Be My Neighbor?” at Aquidneck Park, 35 Golden Hill St., on Thursday, June 21, with the venue opening at 6:30 p.m.

In the documentary, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville looks back on the legacy of Fred Rogers, focusing on his radically kind ideas. While the nation changed around him, Rogers stood firm in his beliefs about the importance of protecting childhood.

There will be live music from Silverteeth at 7:25 p.m., and the film airs at 8:40 p.m. Following the film, there will be a discussion with Neville and producer Nicholas Ma, moderated by "Vanity Fair" contributing editor David Kamp.
